AIn this study, primarily, the causes of the young unemployment will be analysed by eval-
uating it in general and in a theoretical framework. Secondly, the general situation of the
young unemployment in Turkey’s labour market will be analysed and lastly the causes of
the young unemployment will be mentioned so as to make political suggestions to de-
crease its level. Since the study will offer political suggestions concerning the decrease
of continuously increasing unemployment, it is foreseen to make a contribution to the
literature.
In the unemployment literature, the approaches concerning the explanation of young
unemployment are mainly divided into three. These are the Neo-classical Approach, the
Keynesian Approach, and the Shumpeterian Approach. Neoclassical Approach suggests
