A Step For Healthy Life: A Student Club Activity
in detail. It will also include the reasons why the member students want to participate
in the student club, the benefits that they gained and the problems that they encoun-
tered during the club activities.
Material and Method
In this study, activities of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Healthy Life Club in 2016-
2017 academic year were included. The study was conducted as a qualitative study
in order to determine the reasons why the members wanted to take part in the student
club, the benefits they gained andthe problems that they encountered during the club
activities. “Written opinion” technique was usedin the study. The study group con-
sisted of 18 volunteers who participated in the Healthy Lifestyle Club. The students
who participated in the study were given a code between Ö1 and Ö18. The opinions
of the students were made by specifying the codes given to them in the finding and
discussion section.
Students were given a data collection form consisting of open ended questions pre-
pared by the researchers. Sentence disturbances in student responses were correct-
ed with the approval of the students. Basic data analysis and in-depth data analysis
techniques were used to analyze the answers.
Results
The research findings were examined under two headings;
1. The Activities Carried Out By The Aybu Healthy Life Club
The first activity that was carried out by AYBU Healthy Lide Club was“AYBU Healthy
Life Club Meeting Breakfast”which was planned for club members’ meeting as a
social avtivity and accompanied by the instructors. During the breakfast event, the
instructors described their life stories, nursing and academic experiences, the diffi-
culties they faced during their professional lives, their successes, their failures, and
their experiences. They also endeavoured to help young nurse candidates to gain new
perspectives by sharing their occupational experiences. Later on, the questions about
the different topics from club members were discussed in conversation. Finally, AYBU
Healthy Life Club listed the activities planned to be achieved within a one-year period
and ended the activity by creating a work and organization calendar.
