Abstract
Modernity, modern society, ethics and youth constitute the basic dimensions of this article. Moder-
nity influences youth in various forms in the context of ethics in social life. Modern society, on the
one hand, presents a huge set of opportunities in the areas of marriage, politics, education, culture,
religion, economics, law, rights, ethics, morality, entertainment, enjoyment, leisure time, body, orga-
nization, global relations, etc., on the other hand, brings major restraints, limitations, challenges and
problems in the same or similar areas to the people living in it. This is a paradoxical situation and
is one of the dimensions clarifying modernity and modern society in the best way. This feature of
modern society constitutes a tangle of multidimensional problematics and problems especially re-
garding young people, male or female. Within the aforementioned problematics, ethical problematic
is perhaps one of the most difficult, the most painful, or the most bitter. In this study, the researcher
tries to understand, explain, and argue about the situation of youth in modern society with its speci-
fied dimensions in respect to being an ethical problematic. The study examines the research subject
in the axis of sociology of ethics, while referring to the concerned disciplines whenever necessary.
Through this research process, the author benefited from historical and actual scientific sources on
modernity, modern society, youth, and ethics.
