Demographic variables are considered to be the predecessors of youth’s ability to use

the Internet and computers (Livingstone & Helsper, 2007, p.). Computer use abilities and

internet literacy are related to internet and computer usage frequency. It is evaluated

that mobile phone ownership among young people is higher than other devices and it

is considered that internet access is provided via mobile phone, thus affects computer

use skills and internet literacy. According to the results of the t-test analysis, H

hypotheses are accepted. There is a significant

relationship between internet literacy and gender (p <0.05), computer use frequency (p

<0.001), internet use frequency (p <0.05) and internet use (p <0.001). According to the

ANOVA test result, there is a significant relationship between internet literacy and educa-

tion level (p <0.05). In addition, there is a significant relationship between computer use

abilities and gender (p <0.001), computer use frequency (p <0.001), internet use frequen-

cy (p <0.001) and mobile internet use (p <0.001). According to ANOVA analysis, there is

a significant relationship between computer use abilities and education level (p <0.001).

Internet literacy is significant in terms of internet users every day, primary (x2 = 210.42, p

          <0.001), secondary (x2 = 163.79, p <0.001) and tertiary (x2 = 236.97, p <0.001). Accord-

ingly, there is a moderate relationship between tertiary use, for instance playing / down-

loading, listening to music, advanced skills such as creating text, photos or websites, and

using the internet every day (Cramer’s V = 0.25). Moreover, the computer use abilities of

          the primary (x2 = 14.20, p <0.001), secondary (x2 = 96.76, p <0.001) and tertiary skills

(x2 = 61.26, p <0.001) are significant for computer users every day. The secondary use

of Word, Excel and Powerpoint programs have a significant relationship with frequency

computer use every day, but it is important to underline that it also has a meaningful rela-

          tionship with other skill grades (Cramer’s V = 0.18).

hypotheses have been accepted. There is a significant relationship with e-security ap-

proaches and internet usage frequency (p <0.001), personal information sharing (p

          <0.001), internet use frequency (p<0.001) (P <0.001), sharing of payment information (p

<0.001) and cloud storage use (p<0.001). According to ANOVA test result, there is a sig-

nificant relationship between e-security approach and education level (p <0.001).

All these findings show that ICT use skills in the primary, secondary and tertiary level cor-

relates with the frequency of Internet and computer use of youth in Turkey. Additionally,

Turkish youth happens to be concerned about their privacy in the digital world and takes

          action with certain security measures.
