Islamophobia
Islamophobia colloquially means "fear of Islam" and results from prejudice and discrimination against
Muslims and Islam. Islamophobia dates back to the conquest of Andalusia and goes into more depth
following the Crusades. Regarded as enemies after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Marxism
and Communism lost their functions. Then, a need arose for a new enemy that is to say "another one".
This new enemy is "Islamic Countries".
Islamophobia has intensified and assumed stationarity in time and become more popular within
the past decade.
All the resources have been mobilized and a perception management has been put into effect to
eviscerate Islam. This type of management is still in effect in an attempt to take Islam and Muslims
off the global agenda. A goal is pursued to make sure that "the negative perception of Islam" is set in
stone. Some efforts have been exerted to normalize the fearful attitudes and banalize the hatred and
hostility towards Muslims. Negative subconscious messages are disseminated among young people by
means of television and movies that occupy us to a large extent as well as computers and tablets that we
cannot do without or smart mobile phones that we are glued to.
